A simple question...
Hey all, I just got this 1 simple question...
Is a Warrior better then Dervish???
If it is, just why it is? And i mean them all as in general PvE, mostly HM, dungeons, vanquishing, elite areas maybe..
Thanks^^

I think they are, personally. But my main is a warrior and my secondary char is a derv.
Dervs got:
AoE super dmg scythe
Good armor
More energy regen
Wounding Strike
Warriors got:
More skills
Seemingly better farmers
More armors :P
Dragon Slash

I don't know about PvE, but in PvP, Warriors are considered to have more utility than Dervishes.

I run d-slash on my W/E and LOOOOVE it, no problems owning PvE, and some PvP even....dervs are nice back ups, but still to squishy imo

warriors are the best of the best no doubt. I made my warrior as my first character and i have always liked him since with sweet armor and good skills.

On the Warrior forum one would think you might get some biased opinions no?

you say this as if people who play dervs more than wars can't read or post in the warrior forums.
also, it's not bias. warriors are better than dervs at anything that matters (read: gvg and especially not pve)

I really like my Warrior although I do have Derv.and would say they are the fastest runners in the game in the proper hands in skilled exprienced runner.
Yes to DSlash as well as Evis and DHammer.

IMO There is no best/better/worse/worst class in the game. But that would be a whole other debate.

Yes, warriors are simply better.
Reason 1. Save Yourselves! Warriors don't have to tie up their secondary to get it, and they have a fair selection of adrenaline-building skills to ensure uptime. Dervishes need to spend their secondary to get SY!, and the only useful adrenaline-builder available to them is FGJ.
Reason 2. Better synergy with necros. At the high end, effective offense in PvE is about two things: leverage and bypassing armor. That pushes optimal builds in one of two directions: Cry of Pain -- which neither warriors nor dervs can hope to do well -- or stacking armor-ignoring +damage on top of a team full of physicals (and applying some leverage on one side of the equation or the other, or both if possible). Several of the best tools for providing the +damage side of the equation -- Mark of Pain, Barbs, Orders -- require physical damage. Warriors do physical damage. Unfortunately, it's hard to make a passable Derv build without using a skill that converts your damage type into something non-physical. (AoHM is particularly depressing.) And that severely limits your ability to fit into a well-constructed team build.
Reason 2.5: Better leverage. Following from the above, Warriors also have a better selection of skills that can be used to provide leverage on the physical side of the equation. Whirlwind Attack + Hundred Blades (+ Mark of Pain + Assassin's Promise) is the newest shiny toy, but even before that there's been Crude Swing, Triple Chop, Cyclone Axe, and Sun and Moon Slash. Dervishes have the auto-mini-AoE that comes with scythes, but that's all.
Reason 3: Knockdown. Warriors have Earthshaker. Warriors have the adrenaline-building skills to knocklock with Brawling Headbutt. Dervishes do not.
Reason 4: Higher armor. Higher base armor, plus a shield in many cases, gives warriors more survivability. That's not a deal-sealer on its own, but it's definitely a plus.

i have both of the proffession and all i can say is that it depends on what you like to do and your playing style. If you like to run in a scenclessly beat stuff up a war is for you but if you prefer to be careful but still kill stuff a derv. I play my war and my mate plays his derv scrimming all the time. They are always even. Dervs have more energy but wars have more armour.
What im trying to say is that it depends on your playing style.
and btw WARRIORS FTW!!!

1v1 means nothing about your build/profession. You could run a riposte tank and instantly beat any melee in 1v1, while the derv gets screwed over by not getting his multiple hits with the scythe. It's (the riposte build) absolute shit in PvE AND PvP though.
See what I mean?
